Founded in 1984 our general insurance business has developed over the years based on a philosophy of First Class service coupled with Christian and ethical principles. Our clients are not only throughout the UK but also expatriates.

The directors have over 60 years of experience between them in the insurance industry with staff carefully chosen to support them in their mission to provide service excellence.

1Stop Insurance Ltd donates a portion of its profits to charity to support various needy causes. We are not driven by profit. We don’t desire customer satisfaction we insist on customer delight. A delighted client will stay with us year after year as we work together to meet their changing insurance needs.

Our product range

If it is an authorised insurance policy we can arrange it or point you to someone who can. So whether it is travel, vehicle breakdown, shop, office or even something unusual like marine, “GAP”, quad bike or cover for “hole in one” competitions we can help.

Specialist areas

We have built up strong links for church and charity business, as well as domestic buildings and contents, property owners, commercial and travel insurance. In these areas we can make substantial savings for our clients. However we believe in a rounded approach and therefore offer our clients all the policy types they could ever want and more. With our suppliers we constantly review cover, price and above all service. Should any supplier fall below standard we protect our clients by taking proactive action.


Directors

R J Hiscox – Managing Director

In his early 40’s Richard started his career as a Microbiologist in industrial drugs research for a major pharmaceutical company. Moving into the family business in 1985 he initially led the administration side, concentrating on life, pensions and investments. He studied hard and passed his Financial Planning Certificate exams before moving into the newly created General Insurance side.

Since creation of the General Insurance business Richard has developed and grown 1 Stop Insurance to where it stands today, adding carefully chosen staff to support him in his desire to meet the insurance needs of each client.

He is a family man, active Christian and member of his local Baptist church as well as carrying out voluntary work for a local charity helping elderly people with their transport needs. He is planning to help at a Bulgarian Orphanage in the early part of this year where he can put his DIY skills to good use.

His hobbies include photography, DIY and rock climbing. “I like nothing better than hanging off a vertical rock face by my fingertips” says Richard.

Alan Hiscox – Director

Now aged over 60 Alan is at that stage in his life where he prefers to take a more supportive role, leaving the day to day management of 1 Stop Insurance to Richard. Alans' career in insurance started when he was aged 28 and specialised on Life, Pensions and Investments.

Working for a number of well known insurance companies he received an excellent grounding in the insurance industry and is a natural salesman but balances this with a desire to give the client what they want on the best possible terms. He recently sold his Life and Pension business to enable him to concentrate on development of 1 Stop Insurance with Richard.

Alan is also a family man with 3 children and an increasing number of grandchildren. An active member of a Brethren church to which he has gone since age 14 he enjoys many hobbies. He is an accomplished pianist and when he gets the time likes nothing more than to immerse himself in classical music. Alan says “If you don’t ask you don’t get” and is not afraid to ask searching questions of insurance companies in his desire to give clients the best possible service.

Our Basis of Christian Faith
Evangelical Christians accept the revelation of the triune God given in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and confess the historic faith of the Gospel therein set forth. The priesthood of all believers, who form the universal Church, the Body of which Christ is the Head and which is committed by His command to the proclamation of the Gospel throughout the world.

The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory.
